Well… Today was the day we started our PR experience! We arrived in DFW yesterday, checked into the gorgeous Gaylord Texan, and relaxed a little before all the chaos began.

This morning we went to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza https://www.jfk.org/. This is the building where they suspect JFK was shot from. We were able to tour the museum and then meet with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, Head of Educational Outreach, and Graphic Designer. They were able to talk to us about their different roles and how they run a museum from a PR and communications stand point. They also told us how they have hired an outside PR firm to handle some of their stuff. I really liked how they
explained how everything changed pre and post Covid.

After that visit we drove to the Dallas Museum of Art. We had lunch at their cafe, and then got to look around the museum for a few hours. I was able to go to an exhibit on Kineticism, which I actually really liked.
In the afternoon, we returned to the hotel and checked in at the conference and picked up our goodie bags. They had our name badges and a book from one of the presenters, as well as some small swag items like notebooks and stickers. We attended the mixer later that night which was sponsored by FleishmanHillard. They had a DJ, hors d'oeuvres, and a photobooth.
Tomorrow we will be attending the conference all day! There are some amazing sessions I am really looking forward to and I can’t wait to tell you all how they went!
